We are thrilled to
announce the forthcoming publication of our new
tea book: The Tea Enthusiast’s Handbook: A
Guide to the World’s Best Teas. Our new
book is a companion book to our James Beard Award
nominated tea ‘bible’ The Story of Tea:
A Cultural History and Drinking Guide,
and it is also being published by Ten Speed Press,
Berkeley, CA.
The Tea Enthusiast’s Handbook is small in
size but mighty in content. It
covers topics that we left untouched in our
previous book ( such as steeping, storage and
aging tea ) so each book compliments the other
quite nicely information-wise.
Look for The Tea Enthusiast’s Handbook to
arrive in bookstores towards the end of March.
Many bookstores are stocking fewer titles than
they did in the past – if you wish to support your
local bookstore, please be sure to let them know
that you are interested in purchasing a copy. At
a modest price of $16.95, we hope that our book
will be on every bookstore’s ‘must have’ list
for spring. |

In the spirit of
seasonal merry-making, we are introducing a new flavored tea
for each of the four seasons. Our seasonal teas are
hand-blended by us from our own recipes, and consist of a
black tea base to which we add natural flavors, spices,
fruits and flowers.
Bonfire is our aromatic blend that is perfect for the crisp,
golden days of Fall, while Sleighride is for dreaming
on a snowy Winter day.. Our Spring and Summer teas are in
the works and will follow suit as their seasons approach..

Bonfire® Tea
Created to
remember Guy Fawkes and to celebrate the spirit of Bonfire
Night (November 5th) in England.
Guy Fawkes was an Englishman and co-conspirator in the
Gunpowder Plot of 1605 in which he and his cohorts planned to
blow up both houses of Parliament in London and kill King
James I. The plot was foiled, Fawkes was captured and
taken in chains to the Tower of London where he was hanged,
drawn and quartered. Today, Bonfire festivities throughout
England celebrate the yearly opening of the new session of
Parliament and Guy Fawkes is burned in effigy in bonfires
throughout England on November 5th.
