WAMC's - The Roundtable
Yes,
Mary Lou and Bob were interviewed (and made tea) on The
Roundtable, WAMC's lively mid-morning show on Monday,
August 25th.
Bob and Mary Lou talked tea with Joe and Sarah, and Bob
showed them how differently 'rolled-style' oolong tea is
steeped from 'strip-style' oolong. A good time was had by
all, and they asked Bob and Mary Lou to come back again
with more tea treats.
If you weren't listening-in to WAMC Monday morning, you
can follow the link below to listen to the archived show
on the WAMC podcast site.

Non-Tea News ! Vignalta Herbed Salt, Mary Lou's Chile
Blend, 'Poggio Noho' and more...
Vignalta
is back.
Yes, the wonderful herbed sea salt that we all love so
much has returned. Unavailable everywhere for MONTHS,
Vignalta Herbed Sea Salt is back-in-stock. We received
some of the very first of the new shipment that just
landed, so we have many happy customers already. You
should be among them, so if you haven't picked up a fresh
jar yet, come on in or order now from CooksShopHere.com.
Mary Lou's '5-Chile' pure ground chile rub is her latest
savory effort. I'm not quite sure how she comes up with
these combinations that are so tasty, but she does! This
rub truly is an example of a seasoning that she has been
serving up to friends for years and that she has finally
been convinced to share with all of you.
Steaks, chops, pork loins, shrimp, corn-on-the-cob,
guacamole ( I know, I know...purists shudder - but if you
can't bring yourself to add it to your 'guac', then it is
really good lightly dusted on slices of avocado for a
salad!

Introducing Cooks Shop Here's very own Poggio Noho
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Calling
all Italian-ophiles -
It's no secret that we love great olive oil and fine
vinegar.
So we are not terribly surprised that the response to our
recently-introduced 'house' extra-virgin olive oil: 'Poggio
Noho', has been outstanding.
We can hardly keep it in stock, and this means that no
Valley 'love apple' is safe from its drizzle, whether that
tomato is of the traditional field-grown, heirloom, or
cherry variety!
Our newest olive oil is from one of our favorite regions
of Umbria - the Assisi-Spoleto area. Crafted for us by one
of our favorite frantoios, using simply the classic
Leccino and Frantoio olive varieties, 'Poggio Noho' has a
balanced style and subtle sweetness. Pure, clean, and
blessed with the harmonious aromas of fresh herbs and
artichoke, this carefully nurtured olive oil is the
perfect capture of freshly-squeezed olives.
'Poggio Noho' will compliment your palate rather than
shout at you from your plate.
Delicioso!
Plus, farro is back, we have a new polenta, several
interesting spice blends, and more...

otherwise?

Santa Fe
Indian Market - We love it!
Here
is a real treat for readers of the CooksShopHere.com E-Zine:
Several years ago Mary Lou was commissioned to write and
photograph an article on Indian Market for one of her
regular magazines. We went to Indian Market and had a heck
of a great time, including connecting with several food
colleagues who live in the Santa Fe area. Unfortunately
between the time that she finished her article and the
time of publication - the magazine surprisingly went out
of business :<
But this year she is so reflective about the experience
that she has decided to offer it up to readers of her blog,
An Educated Palate, and in this issue of the
CooksShopHere.com E-Zine.
So if you love pottery, or jewelry, or textiles or Native
American crafts or the Southwest or anything Santa Fe,
here you are!
Pay particular attention to the photograph of David John's
painting 'Rain Chant' ... for those of you who aren't
familiar with his work - it is a breath-taking piece.
